"The Girl on the Train"

This was taken way back in 1976, That is Kim Kull, posing on a Koster's Miniature Railroad Supply GP-40 diesel on the trestle in Bill Koster's backyard. The locomotive is powered by 4 - .55hp motors and 5 golf cart batteries.

The engine is a GP-30 built by Del 'Skinhead' Jenkins (Chula Vista, CA) shown at the Montecito station (Seymour Johnson's) near Santa Barbara, CA.

"The Route of the Badger"

Taken at the 7-1/2" gauge Bitter Creek Western Railroad, Arroyo Grande, CA  bittercreekwesternrr.org on August 15, 2003. Engine is a Baldwin 0-4-0,  Jeff Badger's No. 3 Soquel Pacific Coast Railway, the Route of the Badger.  Jeff hails from Santa Cruz County, more. I  was about 10 feet down in a gully looking up at the train and into the late afternoon sun.

"Old 476"

Taken at the 7-1/2" gauge Bitter Creek Western Railroad, Arroyo Grande, CA  bittercreekwesternrr.org on August 16, 2003.  Locomotive is the D&RGW No. 476, a 2-8-2 K-28 built by and is owned by Harry Haass Jr. and Sr.(a family affair). It first ran in 1990 after taking 2 years to build.

"Chelsea and the Little Gasser"

Chelsea finds it helps to hold your tongue out just right when driving the "Little Gasser" at the BCSME July 2003 Trainfest. The Little Gasser, a 0-4-0 2.2 hp gas engine powered loco was built by a dearly departed member of the BCSME. Riding in the gondola are Chelsea's brother, Andrew and sister, LauraMay. Dad, Kevin Behnsen, took the picture.
