"Waiting for the Highball"

Bruno Platzer's 4-6-6-4 #3977 "Challenger" at Los Angeles Live Steamers on it's first time out running; May 2002.  Modeled after the Union Pacific locomotive, #3977 began service in 1943.  Build by the American Locomotive Company, one of  25 ordered by the War Production Board for the UP.

"Crossing Hank's Creek"

Little Engines Mogul built from L.E. drawings. Patterns & castings were produced and machined by the late Stan Cardish. The engineer is Stan's son Keith with Keith's daughter as passenger. They are crossing Hank's Creek with the aid of the 100 year old Dean's Bridge which was moved and reassembled in 1997. Taken at the Adirondack Live Steamers, October, 2001.
