"Derek's First Diesel"

This photograph was taken of my fourteen year old "live steamin' " son, Derek in 1991 when he was only 3 years old. This diesel locomotive was battery powered and ran on an oval wooden track his dad built in front of our house. Little did we know this was his first introduction to live steam...OR that he would still be as devoted to railroading now as he was back then!   Submitted by Jeanni Schipper (Derek's  Mom)
