1” Scale, 4¾” Gauge “Boxhill” 0-6-0 Designed
by Martin Evans for Model Engineering magazine Castings
produced by A. J. Reeves, Ltd. Run a few times at the Pioneer Valley Live
Steamers in Massachusetts. It steams very well, is coal fired, and will carry
several adults and a rather large dog with ease. Other than when it was
pressurized with air by me yesterday, it has not been run since 1970. It ran
very well on air for me. And, since the boiler is copper, I am very confident it
is in fine shape and will pass hydro-testing anywhere. $4,500 o.b.o.

4-3/4"
ga 2-truck 2 cyl. Shay
The #2
Michigan-California 2-truck, 2 cylinder Class A shay modeled at 7-1/2 inch scale
narrow gauge for 4-3/4" gauge track. It is built to the specifications from a
series that ran in Live Steam Magazine. Kerosene fired with a manual water feed
pump & steam-powered dual cycle water pump. 2 safety valves (80 & 85 psi)
The engine runs between 50 and 80 psi. Hydro 10/20/03. 2002 rebuild
included new seals. Controls in the cab. Well maintained, runs beautifully, and
should be a great loco and strong puller for its new owner. Includes a display
stand w/ roller-bearings for stationary steaming or to be run on air. I have
enjoyed taking this engine to numerous shows including car shows with this
stand. Aprox. 75 pounds. Will include parts and connections to run it on
air from a compressor. Selling to upgrade to 15" gauge. $4,750 for
the locomotive and stand. |
O.S.
Live Steam Porter
2-6-0 Loco & Tender. Porter Mogul was used on the
railroads that opened the American west in the 19th century. A beautiful
reproduction of the famous loco built by the Porter Locomotive Works,
Pittsburgh, 1880. The model is impressively complete and has running gear that
is authentic in every detail. So beautiful, you may want to keep it in it's
display case (included). But a fine locomotive like this was "Born to Steam".
(click any image to enlarge) Factory built & tested boiler, constructed between
1982-1986 by Gene Johnson for Frank Garcher. Frank was the owner and Gene was
the machinist at Midwest Products, Hobart, IN., a manufacturer of hobby items,
RC airplanes, etc. Never fired, kept in a display case since built. Truly a
beautiful item! asking $5,500.00
