1" scale cast iron Fox truck castings
These are models of the pressed steel trucks from the Fox patent and were used by railroads in the early 1900s-1920’s on all kinds of cars from tank cars to gondolas. The wheels also have rivet detail showing they are models of the paper wheels used at that time as well on passenger cars for a smoother ride. They are n grey iron and ready to machine. They have been in ziplock bags, so there is no surface rust on them. $95 plus shipping. Located in Sacramento, CA.
1" scale Interurban Car and Truck Patterns
This is the body of a Pacific Electric wooden box motor of the 1450 class. The wooden car body has two doors on each side that move, and there is ample space for batteries inside. It looks as if the side boards are individually applied and the windows are glazed. There are bars on the windows for the cab doors and door handles too. There is also lots of room for a bell, horn, and control board. The car body measures about 46” long, 10” high, and 9 ½” long. There is also a wooden pilot for each end that can accommodate radial couplers or regular couplers.
Also part of the sale is the truck and wheel patterns for the correct trucks. The pattern is metal and will stand a lot of use, if you want to make the trucks commercially or let a friend use it.
But just like an infomercial – “Wait, there’s more!” I also have the pattern for a PCC truck side frame that will come with the box motor. I personally like this side frame better, but it’s yours to choose. And if you call now, there is also a casting that can be used as a pattern for an arch bar interurban truck that I will include as well.
Why am I getting rid of the project? I have an opportunity for a historic 1” scale collection and need space in my shop. It’s that simple.
Asking $550, but open to offers. Buyer to pay crating and shipping, or pick up in Sacramento area. Also willing to drop off at GGLS Open House later this month as well. If you’re interested, please contact me using the form below.
