7.5" Gauge Galloping Goose For Sale
The goose was built from scratch about 10 years ago as an
entry level into 7.5” gauge live steam. It has run on all the tracks in Iowa,
St Croix in Wisconsin, and Fordland Mo. Everyone who has ridden/ driven it
comments on how solid it rides and how well it performs. It handles two adults
with ease.
The drive is 24 volt battery from Roll Models as is the power
controller. It will hold two #27 marine deep cycle starting batteries. Nothing
cobbled up about it. It’s bullet and idiot proof and will last forever. I have
run an entire weekend without recharging so I have no idea of range.
It breaks in two and will ride in an S-10 pickup. Without
batteries two men can load it. With batteries, four! Batteries are not
included. There is a third battery, lawn mower type will do fine, for head
lights and model T style horn included.
Included with the goose is a spare axel / wheel set, 24v
automatic charger, Goose call, the driver (monkey), 250 feet of railroad, box
of screws for railway, all the paper work for everything about the goose. If I
find something else, it goes too.
I’ve lowered the asking price to $2500- you haul. My van is
too tired. I’ve got too many hobbies and retirement doesn’t fund them all very
well. Someone might as well be enjoying the goose, it‘s a total hoot. I also
have a very nice 1969 Lincoln Mark III, $8000. Am I allowed to mention HO
stuff ? (sure George).
