This 1" scale 4 3/4" gauge 4-6-2 Pacific is a (using a modelers
term) kit bashed Little Engines Pacific. I say kit bashed because some
components are not standard to Little Engines to the best of my knowledge. The
locomotive has box pok drivers, frame (one piece machined), piston valves and
home made cab.
Boiler, pilot and trailing truck and other running gear are Little Engines.
Engine is fired on propane using a burner design found on the Golden Gate Live
Steamers web site www.ggls.org under Tips,
Tricks and Plans, Marty burners. The propane is controlled by a regulator and
gauge set up in the coal bin of the tender and propane car. The propane car is
basically a plywood box on a set of 1 Inch Scale Supply trucks. The car carries
up to 5, 4 lb propane tanks manifold together with a regulator and gauge to set
the supply pressure (25-30psi) to the tender. The tender is an all steel welded
tank with bar stock frame, home built brass/stainless steel hand pump and 1 Inch
Scale Supply trucks. Tender tank is powder coat painted inside and out. Located
in the coal bin is a twin gauge and regulator to controls the propane pressure
at the burner, 1-10 psi. Locomotive also features an axle pump of Little Engines
design, and a Power Models twin cylinder steam water pump. The locomotive steams
well and pulls quit well, up to 3 adults and 3 children on grades of less than
1.5 percent. The Locomotive and Tender don't match a particular prototype. The
engine needs and identity and is in need of detailing. I do have some detail
parts included with the locomotive. Located in Lincoln, NE
I am asking $5500 for the complete ready to run locomotive, tender and propane
car with tanks.
