For
Sale Roll Models 'Nellie' or "Inspection Car" & Riding (tool) car.
This model has
operated at Golden Gate Live Steamers, Berkeley, CA. since it was purchased
new about 7-8 years ago. It was operated about once every other month or so,
as I am really a steamer and bought this unit for the grandkids to operate,
they have moved out of the area and I brought the unit home and gave up my
roundhouse space.
About the unit, one
photo shows the Controller unit, two of the photos show the front & rear view
with the top (canopy) assembled, and one photo shows the unit with the top
removed. I modified the unit to allow the top to be removed so I could put it
into a roundhouse space (or in my Chevy Venture Van).
These units are 7-1/2"
gauge. The "Inspection Car" is 40-1/2" long X 20-1/2"wide X 24" high
with out the top & 36-1/4" high with the top assembled (measured from the
rail). I do not have an exact weight, which would vary with ones choice
of batteries but estimate the "Inspection Car" to weigh with top is about 80#
w/o batteries.
The Riding or "Tool
Car" is 39-1/4" long X 19" Wide X 20-2/4" high (weight alone is about 40#).
Overall length when coupled up is 86-1/8"
The inspection car
operates on two 12 volt batteries connected in series making it a 24 VDC unit.
I never ran the unit out of capacity and have heard others with Roll Models
setups with similar electrical units claim to have operated theirs at Train
Mountain all day. I have operated the "Inspection Car" pulling a 1-1/2
scale gondola style riding car and 3 adults, so know it can pull a fair load.
