One inch scale, 4¾"ga.
2-4-0. It's coal fired. I just got done going through it and
it runs great! It's a real "Show Stopper" when we had it running at the LALS
meet in the photos.
A leak in the boiler
is being repaired. It will pass the hydro test before it is sold.
Loco looks to have
been built in the late 1960's or 1970's and seems to have been a "one-off".
Made from all brass and bronze with alum frame. The previous owner told
me he had it for 6-7 years sitting under his work bench and only ran it on air
a few times and the owner before him said it had lived at the Riverside LS
club. Perhaps one of Jack Sashums built back in 1970-1972 for a man
named doc. If it's that loco, I've been told it was a great steamer and
a good runner. The loco is light at about 90 pounds and won't pull a
long train but has the advantage of being very easy to transport.
Equipped with two
working cross head pumps and a working hand pump in the tender. Safeties
lift at 90 psi. It has a copper boiler and a good whistle with a
deep sound for a 1" sale loco and is under the cab. I reworked all the
plumbing. I made the new head light and bracket, made a new wooden cab
and reworked the throttle which is way cool I've never see one built like it
before. I have a 1" gon, flat car, caboose, and a nice PE box motor that
are for sale, but $5000.00 is for loco only.
