For Sale:  Lunkenheimer 3.5" Steam Whistle

Lunkenheimer Steam Whistle. 15" high x 3 1/2" diameter brass single note whistle. The handle and fulcrum may be replacements. The valve spring seems weak but does work. The center post has some surface pitting so it has seen some steam through the whistle. Unknown history.

Westinghouse air whistle from Pennsylvania Railroad MP54 electric commuter train. The MP54 electric multiple unit cars were made for the PRR between 1915 and 1939. The brass Westinghouse air whistle was mounted on the front above the round "owls eye" engineers window. This whistle still has some of the PRR Tuscan Red paint on it. The Westinghouse emblem is cast on the top and base. It has an internal divider to give it a three note sound. It measures 13-1/2" high.

Hand pumped whistle used on a launch or life boat. They are advertised in the 1910 Durkee's catalog. The pump is 15" high x 4" diameter. The three note whistle is 6 1/2" high x 1 3/4" diameter. Lift the handle and a quick pump will blow the whistle.

Boiler builder plate from SS Edward Livingston, WW2 Liberty Ship.
9 1/2" x 7 1/8" brass plate from Boiler #1 of the SS Edward Livingston Liberty Ship built by California Shipbuilding Corp, Hull #713 laid down Jan 19, 1943, launched Feb 13, 1943. Scrapped 1966.

The Liberty Ships were a class of cargo ship built in the US to support WW2. They had two oil fired boilers with a triple expansion steam engine, single screw, 2500 hp. Length 441 ft, beam 56 ft, capacity 10,856 tons.

10 9/16" x 6 1/16" brass plate from boiler # 1 of the SS Henry Clay Liberty Ship built by Alabama Drydock & Shipbuilding Co. Hull #3 laid down Oct 1, 1941, launched April 23, 1942.

Steam locomotive bell from McKeesport Connecting Railroad 0-6-0 locomotive #24 built by Baldwin Locomotive Co in 1916.
Bronze bell is 16-3/4 inch diameter and total height of yoke to top of acorn is 31 inches. It is probably 275 pounds so pick up would be best. I don't have provisions for shipping.

Canadian National steam locomotive number plate from 2-8-0 #2035. Built by Canadian Locomotive Company in 1908 for Canadian Northern Railroad. Loco was scrapped in 1955. I believe this is the original 1908 Northern plate that was changed because the word "National" has been brazed into it.

6 note Grand Trunk Steam Locomotive Whistle built at the Grand Trunk RR foundry.

6 note steam locomotive whistle from Grand Trunk 4-8-4 locomotive #6315. The whistle is 6" diameter and 26 1/2" tall. Top is brass and the bowl and valve are cast iron. It has the manual valve lever and an air operated provision. All three pieces have GTR cast in raised letters.

$2,000. Weight is about 75 pounds so packing, shipping and insurance would be expensive. I'd prefer pick up or I could meet within a reasonable distance from S.E. PA. Located in Morgantown, PA 19543   Contact me.
